Hydronics (space heating with hot water)

Heat your home and out buildings with wood, safely, from a single outdoor boiler. Hydronic heating, through in-floor tubing or base board radiators, or other heat exchange methods, is economical. For Off-grid living, there is the added benefit of being able to circulate the heat to where it is needed with a small, energy efficient,12 volt DC pump. Domestic hot water for bathing and doing dishes can be heated indirectly, so your normal water heater source of heat can be saved as a back-up. Your cold water supply line, rising up out of the ground under the house, can be protected from freeze up (for those of us who do not have basements) by running your circulating hot water lines next to it, and enclosing all of them in an insulating sleeve.

The Classic can be located up to 500 feet away from the home or building being heated.
Heated water from The Classic is pumped to the home or building through insulated, underground pipes -- the most efficient way to move heat over distances.
Depending on the existing heating system in the home or building, a heat exchanger or direct circulation conveys the heat into a forced-air furnace, boiler, or radiant floor heating system. This gives you normal thermostatic temperature control.
In addition, by installing a water-to-water heat exchanger, The Classic can also provide all of your domestic hot water, allowing you to save on your electric or gas bill.
